MomWithOCDSon Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 I've been taking glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM for a couple of years now to help with some joint stiffness . . . knees mostly. A few weeks ago, though, I read about how glucosamine can cause an increase in cholesterol, so many people who suffer joint pain use a different approach: adding a packet of Certo fruit pectin to a gallon of juice, and drinking a glass daily. The Certo is this gel-like substance, and supposedly it helps lubricate joints without increasing your cholesterol. Certo Pectin Therapy Well, I put it into a gallon of white grape juice in the frig, and now PANDAS DS has decided he likes white grape juice, too (used to dislike it intensely), and he's been having it with breakfast in the morning. At first I thought, fine, it might help him with some of his joint pain he sometimes gets. But I wouldn't want the pectin to interfere with any of the other interventions we're using to try and get the exacerbation under control, like antibiotics and probiotics. Anyone else have experience with this? Any thoughts? Thanks!
Tamistwins Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 http://supplebodies.com/ My mother used to have awful Charlie horse, leg cramps that she would wake up from and be in excruciating pain. I saw an infomercial on this and ordered it. She no longer gets leg cramps. This really works if anyone is interested in alleviating joint pain and or cramping. Just an fyi.
