Wilma Jenks Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Are the Western Blot and Ingenex test the same test?
laure Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Are the Western Blot and Ingenex test the same test? Not at all. The Western blot is notorious for not showing positives. In particular when lyme is chronic. Igenex is much more sensitive, although it too can show false negatives. Right now I would suggest you find a very good LLMD. Lots of help of this forum for that. Also you should buy a copy of the video "Under Your Skin" and perhaps read "Cure Unknown" to get up to speed on lyme. Your daughter will see results once she begins treatment for lyme. Good luck!
lfran Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Sort of. Western Blot is a type of test. Several labs will run a Western Blot on blood, but Igenex is considered to be the best. However, Igenex also runs a lot of other tests besides the Western Blot. Does that make sense? Are the Western Blot and Ingenex test the same test?
