Guest pandas16 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 (edited) I came back IgG posive for 41, and IgM positive for 23. Only had labcore test done. Overall they said the result was negative because I didn't have enough positive strains. I have PANDAS- what does this mean in terms of PANDAS? Help please. I don't really feel that bad PANDAS wise- I'm at like 90%... I lost the 10% due to a mycoplasma infection, or so I thought. Edited February 5, 2011 by pandas16
lyme_mom Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 The presence of one Lyme specific band like 23 is enough evidence of Lyme exposure to treat if u have symptoms. U only get antibodies to band 23 if u have been exposed to Lyme. Again symptoms are paramount.
sf_mom Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 It might be worth running Igenex WB to see if there are any additional Lyme specific bands that are not present that are not tested via Labcorp. Mycoplasma and Lyme can both be chronic infections, they also tend to be frequent co-infections partners (I have both) and difficult to eradicate. I noticed your back slide began with Mycoplasma from PANDAS forum. Often combo'd antibiotics 9 to 24 months would be anticipated range to treat both infections if present and most likely resolve last remaining 10% of your symptoms. A good LLMD would know how to treat and investigate further on your behalf.
adkmom Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 My DS4 tested negative 2 times with Quest labs. Positive with Igenex. I would encourage you to look carefully at the lab that's testing. If we had not persued the more thorough lab test, we would be lost and our son would be growing up with Lyme progressing. It's kind of scary.
