I really do not know what this means. Explain Best results to treat. IgM is like a 1st responder and precursor to IgG. It usually elevates on a 1st infections. IgG could be elevated from a past or current infection. Elevated IgG w/o IgM means that if their is a current infection, its not the 1st.
Phasmid Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 My son's IgG Mycoplasma p. has been elevated 6x normal since last March. I believe it can stay elevated for long, long time, as some other titers do, showing that there is immune protection against it. Doesn't necessarily mean a present infection. IgM present would indicate a recent or ongoing infection. Nothing my son has taken has lowered the IgG in all that time.
