PANDAS mentioned on Mystery Diagnosis

Sorry I only saw part of it, but PANDAS was mentioned on an episode of Mystery Diagnosis on Oxygen network. The episode was called "The Boy Who Only Hopped."

 

You might want to keep an eye out for it. It's interesting that PANDAS was mentioned on a mainstream TV show since most doctors don't know about it or don't believe it's a real thing.

This was Sammy's story from the book Saving Sammy The Boy Who Caught Ocd by Beth Maloney. Beth has been working very hard to get the story out into the media and into medical schools. She did a great job thus far.

My husband and I caught this episode in Sept and that's how we came to know our son had PANDAS. We'd been to all kinds of doctors. Not one mentioned PANDAS but they mentioned plenty of other scary things.

Its a good thing u were able to see the episode and diagnos for yourself. I'm sure many if not all of us have come to this diagnosis on our own before seeking out proper medical treatment. Unfortunately, we as parents have to be our own children's doctors.

Hopefully one day soon doctors will agree with us parents instead of delaying proper treatment.
