melanie Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Dans beem doing ok lately some realy good days and some ok days so I say hes doing ok.I started the OLE about 4 days ago and he seems not so ok.Anger and some talking to himsrlf(self stim stuff),Could it be the OLE? Can that happen.Im not giving it to him this AM . Melanie
sf_mom Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 We did notice an increase in symptoms when we started OLE for 10 days. Our son is currently diagnosed with Lyme (so, most likely herxing). Olive leaf extract acts as a antibiotic, anti viral, anti fungal. He currently takes 1,800 m.g. per day plus combo'd antibiotics. Hope that helps. -Wendy
melanie Posted January 19, 2011 Author Report Posted January 19, 2011 But what happens after 10 days?
Kayanne Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 I have also read on a few websites that OLE makes some antibiotics less effective....I could never find more info on that.
sf_mom Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) He went back to prior baseline after 10 days and eventually started to see improvement. We just added to another antibiotic to regimen, still taking OLE and have seen a 'huge' improvement in baseline while other and new symptoms have cropped up. i.e. frequent urination (new), talkative periods with dilated pupils (revisiting this symptom), increased comments of not feeling well/joint pain (ongoing since treating for Lyme). Its been 18 days but we do anticipate for things to settle down again and for him to continue with recent improvements. -Wendy Edited January 19, 2011 by SF Mom
GraceUnderPressure Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 We have used OLE off & on for years and in the beginning we used to see an initial increase in tic in my ds. I found that by backing down the dose & increasing more gradually his body handled it much better, but I imagine it would depend on the person's individual sensitivity.
melanie Posted January 20, 2011 Author Report Posted January 20, 2011 well thanks but I cant go backwards so I stopped it .Ill let you know. Thanks again everyone Melanie
