browneyesmom Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 DD11 was having a very mild episode & we left her alone reading nearby to give it time to pass. Suddenly, she started making a whining noise. It intensified; I went to lie in the recliner with her to comfort her. No improvement, so I started to assess her (I'm an RN). She c/o pain when she takes a breath, vitals were normal, other than respirations elevated. Capillary refill immediate. Lungs clear & Heart rate regular. She is still complaining of pain at 8 on 1-10 scale, down from 10, but back up from 5.5. Pain was not decreasing, so given her history, called 911 again... starting to feel like a frequent flier. Anyone else have such an issue with their PANDAS kids?
Priscilla Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 my dd has complained of chest pain at times, not that severe though. I think I remember reading that one of the tick borne illnesses can cause chest pain. I can't remember if you said you had ruled all that out, although many are saying you really need an ILAD or LLMD to determine whether the tests are really negative. I am reading Cure Unknown, while I don't think lyme is the case for my dd, it is very good knowledge to be armed with. Sorry you are still going through this.
browneyesmom Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 Thanks Priscilla... sounds like it might have been a panic attack. Not surprising as she has rather high anxiety & was having an episode. The pain definitely decreased as she came out of the episode. Doc just saw her - going to give her some ibuprofen & run an EKG, but said her labs look good & so does her assessment, so sounds like we will be going home to get some rest sometime tonight... and maybe even have Christmas dinner sometime tomorrow? We'll see how tired we all are after some rest. my dd has complained of chest pain at times, not that severe though. browneyesmom Posted December 29, 2010 Author Report Posted December 29, 2010 Must make communication with the docs and assessing their treatment decisions and reading their med notes a lot easier, too! I'm thinking of you and your dd and sending healing thoughts your way! TH hehe... yes, it does! Thanks.... right back at ya!
