Phasmid
Hi all who have had IVIG. My ds12 is scheduled for IVIG January 6 (exactly 2 years after last major episode). This just occurred to me. My son has a retinal disease (Coats Disease) that left him without central vision in one eye. The infusion may increase intraocular pressure since blood pressure gets elevated during infusion (hence the headache). Has any of your prescribing docs ever mentioned eye issues, or asked in screening questions whether your child has vision issues? Any eye trouble following infusion? Thanks! lynn2
DS doesn't have any eye problems that I am aware of, but no one asked and there were no eye effects that I am aware of from 2 IVIGs

SarahJane
No eye issues for our ds. Would be worth talking to your dr about tho'. I did want to let you know that we were told the headache post-IVIG results from the brain swelling going down & the fluid flowing back into that area. (No mention of intraoccular pressure.) Our ds(6) did not have the BIG headache but did have a headache that we treated with Tylenol.
