GraceUnderPressure Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Since my ds18 has had sx's onset around age 4 and steadily worsening over the years, doesn't that mean that plasmapheresis is a better option for him than IVIG? Is pex as expensive as IVIG? Are the risks & followup sx's pretty much the same? Is there a dr in TX who does pex? (We are near Houston; we have been using Dr. Rao in Dallas)

JAG10 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 Dr. Elia at CHOP uses pheresis as well, but last I'd heard only for severely debilitating, sudden cases.
