kferricks Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 He truly impressed me. He is just so confident and knowledgable. I showed up without any tests done. He asked me a bunch of questions, looked and spoke with her; looked up her nose and could see strep. Never thought I'd see the day that I would be so happy being told my child has an autoimmune disorder. lol I now have the script to get her bloodwork and to get everyone in my house tested. He put her on Omnicef, prednisone, musinex and a nasel rinse. We go back the second week in January when he will also do allergy testing. Seems my family had more autoimmune disorders than I realized. So, she was predispositioned to get something. lol He said it was good that she was'nt in school for now and that I needed to take her out of the ocd clinic and to keep her away from large groups of ppl. Because the prednisone lowers her resistance to infections. He also said that because we caught it pretty early that he did'nt think he would have to treat it extreemly aggressive. I just want to thank all of you. I'm so gratefull for finding this site, finding other parents who were more than willing to take me by the hand, give info, ideas, support. I was so nervous even just making that first phonecall for an appointment. (yes, I'm a nervous ninny) Once I walked into his office and we started speaking, I experienced my first moment of calm since the end of August. I am hopefull, thankfull and gratefull. Jodi
