Question is How long till you see results if any? How much 135lb male 16 yrs old ASD/PANDAS IVIG every 21 days 60 grams Thanks for the help melanie I just spoke with Dr. Leckman at Yale University about NAC. He said it has had much success with OCD Spectrum Disorders. I can not answer your question but wanted to offer that if you need more information regarding this, maybe you could contact him. He is very kind and willing to help. I am curious about its effectiveness with tic control.
NancyD Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 My DD14 is about 135 lbs and she takes 600 mg capsules: 3 in am and 2 in pm. So that is a total of 3000 mg.
MomWithOCDSon Posted December 6, 2010 Report Posted December 6, 2010 Our DS13 is about 140 pounds, and he takes 1200 in the a.m. and another 1200 in the p.m. He's also taking a fair amount of Vitamin C, which I understand is key to helping NAC work at its best, too.

For those of you using the NAC - is there a noticeable change? Is it helping? How long until you saw results if any? Also, anyone using it for tics?

NancyD Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Yes, I would say there was a noticeable change. Not amazing, but noticeable. I can't recall how long before we saw a change but I don't think it was very long. DD14 took it for OCD only as tics have been gone completely for over a year. She also takes 5000 IUs vitamin C per day. And she was taking L-theanine but we stopped it recently as it wasn't making much of a difference. Now that she is being treated for Lyme I'm hoping we will eventually get to the bottom of the OCD.
