EAMom Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 1) article on how giving glucosamine might help protect against ulcers (from Ibuprofen) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17504261 any more info./articles on using glucosamine to protect gi tract would be welcome (it's a hard thing to google) 2) a separate article on how glucosamine acts synergistically with ibuprofen for more effective pain relief. I wonder if this synergy also works applies to PANDAS symptoms? http://www.prohealth.com/library/showarticle.cfm?libid=10199 Be aware that glucosamine is derived from shellfish (in case anyone has allergies).
Mary M Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 Thank you. My dd12 recently stopped taking her daily dose of ibuprofen. I have been worried about the side effects. If she needs to return to regular ibuprofen use again I will be sure to add glucosamine to her regimen as well. Has anyone had any anti-inflammatory success with the natural alternative phytoprofen?
