Kbossman1 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Ok, after firing our old pediatrician, hiring a new one, and scheduling an appointment with Dr. B next month....we had all of the bloodwork done that Dr. B suggested and we're supposed to bring the results with us to our appointment. The nice dr. who ordered all of this bloodwork says that I need to go over it with Dr. B because he knows more about what he's looking for.....I understand that....but in the meantime, I'm hoping some of you guys who have been through this already may understand what some of this bloodwork means?! Help???? Here's what is abnormal: IgG serum 825 normal is 572-1474 IgG subclass 2 Abnormal Low 109 normal is 113-480 IgA serum 83 normal is 34-305 IgA subclass 2 Abnormal Low 10.8 normal is 12.2-140.7 BUN/Creatinine Ratio Abnormal High 33 normal is 8-27 Carbon Dioxide, Total Abnormal Low 19 normal is 20-32 Lyme western blot.....All IgG bands absent.....shows IgM P23 Ab. Present (abnormal) ****The bloodtest then says that if 2 of the following bands are present than the result is positive; 23,39,or 41.....only band present in her's is 23? The interpretation is negative, but does anyone know what it means to have this band IgM P23 positive/ or present? Vitamin D, 25-Hydroxy is Abnormal Low 29.5 normal is 32.0-100.0 Ok, everything else on all of the tests was with-in normal range, these are just the items that were flagged or stood out.....any/ and all help/ opinions or advice, would be wonderful. It will still be 3 weeks before we see Dr. B....and do you think if his office had this information that they could tell me: either YES, you should be coming here.....or NO, doesn't look like you need to come? It's so hard to know.......The only other information that I have is that her bloodwork in October showed: Antistreptolysin O Ab screen Not Detected and this bloodwork in November says Antistreptolysin O Ab is 31.3 normal is 0.0-200.0 and Anti DNase B is 78 normal is 0-70 up to age 6 and 0-170 age 7-17 (she just turned 7)???? Thanks for any information, opinions, shared experiences.....etc...
justinekno Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I can't really add much to these results other than I think the Bun test measure hydration. My son's was abnormal and Dr. B. said it was due to dehydration. Also, from our personal experience, Dr. B's office won't go over any bloodwork over the phone. Their policy seems to be all labs are discussed at the visit. I think if you asked, they would tell you that you should come there. I think it's good to get the perspective of an immunologist and Dr. B is getting more and more familiar with Lyme so he could help point you in the right direction.
