Ok, so I hear a lot about herxing, but I have no clue what it looks like. Could someone post some examples?

I've not been feeling too good lately, and yesterday I was throwing up and had to stay in bed all day, actually sleeping most of the time, had no energy at all. Could that be herxing?

Extreme fatigue and nausea can be signs of herxing. For my son, very negative behavior was a sign of herxing. He would snap at the least little thing, be very sensitive to sound, and tired. Also, he was clingy!!!! The strangest symptom so far was that he had a massive amount of SNOT! That's right, nasal discharge like a horrible cold or severe allergy. The behavior got so bad that I called the LLMD and he said to stop the antibiotics for a couple of days and then move on to the next antibiotic on our list. I was doubtful, but lo and behold, the snot went away and his behavior improved. We have just started ramping up on the Flagyl, so it will be interesting to see what happens there. Hope you feel better soon.

For me, herxing feels like the flu. Tired, aches, chills, tingling in extremities, headaches, nausea, just an overall sick feeling. For my son, his herx's are mostly neurological. Anxiety, stress, tension, headaches. From what I hear from other parents with children with Lyme, they have also noticed their childrens symptoms seem to be more neurological as well.

During a herx, try to really focus on detox. Lemon water, epsom salt baths, activated charcoal, massage therapy, just to name a few things that seem to really help us.

The nausea can be coming from a heavy die off. Activated charcoal will help this a great deal. Just make sure to take at least 2 hours away from any meds.

Crushing fatigue unrelieved by rest was my main lyme/babesia symptom. I took a lot of naps and when I was on mepron it got worse before it got better so that is definitely herxing. Then the brain fog, word loss, etc. kicks in due to all the die off, but that also goes away eventually. Hang in there!
