matis_mom Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 I am thinking we all need to be tested, but with a family of 10, well, it would be a small fortune. Our insurance has been awesome at covering all regular labwork and a good percentage of out-of-network visits. Has anyone had any luck getting reimbursement? Also, we've all been on antibiotics off and on at different times. I am afraid to test and then get a negative and always wonder... Do I need to go to an LLMD first, so see if we need something to "provoque" it, or can we just ask our regular docs to sign the order? What is the most acurate way to go about it?
justinekno Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 We had our integrative dr sign the order. I am still waiting to see if we get reimbursed (sent the paperwork to ins co yesterday). I am thinking we all need to be tested, but with a family of 10, well, it would be a small fortune. MichaelTampa Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Mine paid roughly 50% when all was said and done. They treated it as an out-of-network treatment that was "too expensive". The out of network made it 70%, based on my plan, and the "too expensive" part meant that some was not paid at all, while the rest was paid at 70%. I'm sure experience with this is going to vary.
JTs-Mom Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 I had an HMO at the time we tested, so I didn't even bother to try because they don't cover anything 'out of network'. If you have a PPO or fee-for-service (FFS) plan, you would probably have better luck.
Iowadawn Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 We had a $1400 IGeneX bill. We got a check back for $600. BCBS out of network.
