  1. Okay since i was last on here asking about LDA immunotherapy and ocd, my dgtr was in the hospital for 4 days. After MRI, EEG, etc she was diagnosed with dysautonomia. I have been wondering since dysautonomia can be triggered by an infection(strep) if others have children with it? she has gotten worse since immunotherapy and now is homebound cannot go to school. We have tried ssri's and have learned she can only take a small dose, cutting the smallest dose in 1/4 or 1/2. I saw an article on this site discussing this exact finding. Wow! any input, insight appreciated. She still has ocd however there are more worrisome symptoms now, like inability to stand for a short time, major fight or flight symptoms. one last question are dilated pupils part of pandas? she gets this when she is feeling the worse, it is also a symptom of dysautonomia from adrenaline, which I guess Pandas could be a subgroup. Tilt testing found neurally mediated hypotension. I believe she has POTS - tachycardia being the reason for the hospitalization. thanks, julie

  3. On the OCD site I asked about LDA immunotherapy. My daughter has major food and inhalant allergies, IgE >2400. She has had some OCD behavior but is very high functioning. She has autoimmune diseases: psoriasis and hashimotos. We tested for bacteria during her LDA dr consultation and she came up positive for strep. She had her first LDA and was treated for strep which increased her OCD significantly. We have wondered about pandas but never knew for sure. We tested titers and they came back fine. She is 15 now. She has strep throat at age 13 and symptoms were aggravated but again very manageable. She says currently her OCD does not take up more then an hour of her day. Although she is very frustrated with it. Okay my big question does anyone know if LDA helps or aggravates Pandas? If she has it. I know she has OCD. I thought if this is all an autoimmune reaction then the LDA should help. I believe we will hold off on the 2nd LDA with the strep. I will have to learn more and better to wait then make it any worse. I look forward to any feedback/thoughts.
  4. I am a new member. My daughter's main issues are severe allergies. Her symptoms are "brain allergy" ones like brain fog, fatigue, unreal feeling, spacey, headaches, etc. She has autoimmune diseases too: psoriasis and hashimotos. She has had some mild OCD behaviors for a couple of years. They did not interfere with her everyday function. We have tried many types of treatments for her allergies. She has been gluten free and casein free for one year. We are now doing LDA immunotherapy for food, inhalants, and chemicals. In addition Dr. Shrader found she is sensitive to strep and we are adding that in treatment too. After one LDA immunotherapy her OCD behavior was aggravated. He feels this may be a good sign. My big questions is has anyone tried LDA for allergies and seen an aggravation of OCD. Part of her treatment includes antibiotics to treat strep right before the LDA injections. I feel 100% certain I am on the right track to help her allergies. I just do not know what to expect with the OCD. Any thoughts appreciated. We have wondered about Pandas. Her naturopathic dr tested titers and all okay. We have used antibiotics 2-3 x in the past to see if change in symptoms but none. She is taking tofranil right now. This is the only allowed drug during treatment. She is on natural dessicated thyroid hormone too. She takes supplements like B's, D, fish oil (not allowed right after injections), digestive enzymes, probiotics.
