Does anyone here use charcoal? If so, how? Meg has C Diff. and is having die off. She is 9 years old and 56lbs. The bottle of charcoal says not for children. it is Activated Charcoal 260mg (4gr) Thank you for your help.

It is oral. I just looked up what a Prion is....that does freak me out!

Has anyone tried or heard of Bovine Immunoglobulins? It was mentioned to me by our LLMD for increase immune support instead of IVIG.

I know!!! I'm SO frustrated. Inge Dis passed me to GI, who then passed me back to Inf Dis (seriously). They wouldn't help so GI said "you are out of my league. Call your Pediatrician." Unbelievable. We saw an Osteopath today and has done some changes. I have left Dr. T an urgent message 3 days in a row.....I know he is SUPER busy. But, Meg is SUPER sick.

She had an allergic reaction to the Flagyl. The tested her after 8 days on Flagyl and then again 1 week off. Both negative. I have tried 2 times to restart Augmentin. On day 2 she gets diarrhea and nausea. So I stop and bump up Florastor and her belly symptoms are better. She now has a temp of 101.2 on Tylenol. Was 102.9 last night before Tylenol.. Am i at a point where she needs Vancomycin or IVIG????

I have Olive Leaf Extract 900mg capsules and Oil of Oregano 460mg. How much would you give? She is 56lbs.

She has been tested for EBV. It was negative. Lyme neg. HSV neg. ASO/DNASE neg.

I (once again) am in dire straights... Meg has been ill for weeks. C Diff. The last 2 cultures were negative. But we can't get back on Augmentin....she starts with C Diff symptoms. GI passes me to ID who passes me back to GI who then passed me back to Pedi. Left messages and emails for Dr. T with no response. I have tried Homeopathy....they won't give strep nosode....just treating anxiety and OCD. She is in bed with a fever and her right gland is so swollen you can see it. Her throat hurts. She is very pale and lethargic. Has been out of school since Sept 13. I don't know where else to turn. I have been loading her up with Florastor and Culturelle in hopes that I can resume antibiotics for a short term. I just know anymore and feel like I am literally fighting for her life. I am SO scared of strep going to her heart.

I am starting my 3 children on OLE and Oregano OIl and was wondering what Brands people like/had success with... And what type of dosing is used. My children are 55lbs and 35lbs. Thanks!

We have tried the chewable and they do NOT taste good. I also found that my kids start to change towards the end of the bottle, and it does yellow. We have a wonderful pharmacist. She will fill however many days I would like, so when I notice that the color is changing etc, we just get a new bottle.

I just came across information of this today. I was very intrigued by the use in hospital settings for bed sores. I am also curious to know if anyone has tried it. Have you found anything new on it, or tried it?

I was there prior to remedy. She developed a swollen eye and itchy eyes nose and face. Earlier in the week she said her throat felt weird. She has been so nauseous, I didn't think. Low and behold, she is allergies to Flagyl. She has been off since yesterday. Swelling and itchiness gone, but the rash is taking some time. Throat culture today neg. she rarely tests positive. With rapid. Re did c diff culture today to see where we go next. She has been out of school for 10 days! We are considering a tutor. I don't want her to fall behind.

Now she has a small tiny rash all over her trunk. Not feeling ""herself". I know she needs abx for strep.

Today was by far the worst I have ever seen Meg. She was diagnosed with C Diff last week and put on Flagyl. She is also on Florastor and VSL #3. She is still not back to school. Yesterday I dropped her off, she was upset, but still went in. As soon as I walked in the house the school called and I had to go get her. She said she was nauseous. She sat in the car and said she was better. But had fear in her eyes and did NOT want to go back in. I called her Psychologist and he saw us yesterday and said she def has her OCD back and anxiety and tried to teach her some techniques. When we got home she melted. Crying, nausea,screaming, diarrhea.... I gave her an Epsom Salt bath and she calmed a little. Slept fine. This AM I lost her. she woke scared. Did not want want to go to school. Had diarrhea 4 times before 11 AM, dizzy, nausea. Dr. T is at a conference, advised us to call Pedi....he wanted to make sure wasn't dehydrated. He saw us at noon. On the way there I had to pull over because she was starting to hyperventilate and said she was going to vomit. When we got in the office she said she saw stars and asked if the lights were flickering. Pedi said anxiety..no dehydration. Reculture stool to make sure we have improvement. I had a first time visit with Homeopath/Naturopath for Monday. I called to seeif he could see us today. Thankfully, he did. I couldn't get her in the car. She locked herself in her room. I had to threaten her that I would call an ambulance ( prob the worst thing to do) if she didn't come out. She finally came out and got in the car......a 35 min ride ahead of us. THE WHOLE WAY THERE she cried,"tingled" .......total full blown panic attack...almost wet herself. By the time we pulled in the driveway... I had to carry her in. She was trembling fiercely, pale, sobbing. So the doctor sees us and asks a ton of questions. Asks if I would mind he gave her a homeopathic remedy to help calm down now. Um yeah, no problem. Within MINUTES, she is calm. No tears. No more nausea. By the time we left she was smiling, laughing and happy! I am ASTOUNDED. He has her taking (I know I will spell it wrong) Tuberculium every other day until next Thursday. And then call him. And we will go from there. He said it slime peeling an onion....heard that before. I just want to say that today was the first time I realized how important this board is to me.....it's a wonderful sounding board, counseling center and overall blessing to me. Without everyone's experience here to give direction, advice and experiences...I'm not sure where we would be. Thank you to everyone that has ever read my posts and responded or just said a prayer. We have a long road ahead of us. But it sure does feel good to be back in control.

So for a very long time I have had GI issues. Had my gall bladder out 2 years ago. Can't eat anything without running to the bathroom (sorry to be so graphic).....I wonder if I should be tested too then????

250 billion? Wow. I am way off. I give my kids 1-15 billion a day. no wonder she got C Diff!

Partial stool report came back positive for C Diff. What do we do now? I know it must be treated. Could that be causing the flare? Anyone with positive C Diff?

Wow..... No wonder you are confused that is a lot to keep up with. I think if you could provide a little more background info more people could respond to your post and try to help you. Are all three children pandas/pans... Any confections? Each child may need a different level of care or respond differently. Do they each have different levels of symptoms? Meg...diagnosed PANDAS 3 years ago..ALL tests neg....ASO, m plasma, ANT DNASE, Lyme (p41 +), HIGH anxiety. Was in check until beg of Aug. Dr. T wanted her off abx (Aug 250) to run clean tests. Since then daily nausea, fatigue and feeling blah. Joe dx PANDAS a year and a half ago. ALL tests neg. except high HSV. Rage, emotional, wets himself when sick unless on abx Kyle mild PANDAS. All tests neg except Lyme p41. Emotional Not really sure what PANS is.....

I think I am confused...... My 3 kids have been on ABX for quite some time......from 3 years down for Meg and 1.5 for the boys. They have flares. They get sick...mostly the boys get sick, but all flare. So....daily abx..is it to treat or to keep things at bay? And should they flare when on abx? Does that mean its the wrong dose? Are they sick? Have they been exposed? All of the above? If we don't see a difference on Augmentin 600 2xday or Amoxicillin 250 2xday, does that mean the Amoxicillin is working just as well as the Aug, OR that neither is working if they flare and get sick on them?
