  1. How accurate are CD 57 tests? My two sons and I have incredibly low CD 57 from lab corp. My LLMD has seen so many low cd 57 counts that he is wondering if it is accurate. Of course, people go to him with lyme symptoms so its hard to say. He sees plenty of negative Igenex Western Blots, but not normal CD 57 tests.
  2. We are considering it too for ds 7 and 9 with enlarged tonsils, lots of strep per year, PANDAS and possibly lyme. Its such a tough decision. My ds 9 gets strep rashes sometimes too so I wonder about how effective tonsillectomy would be for him. Brown eyes mom, what are the immunogoblin tests? Are these done by immunologist? Both boys had very low CD 57 which I understood as an indicator of low immune function or chronic bacterial infection. It'd be good to find out which.
  3. I agree that it helps with the symptoms. I started going several years ago, before lyme was confirmed, for neuropathies/tingling/muscle spasm. The symptoms improved. I find it very relaxing and good for my mood overall. I feel like the benefits last for about a week and I need to go again. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my insurance to cover it here in SC, but I understand it is covered for many. I would go every week if I could!

Can anyone comment on the role/reliability of the CD57/lymph test. My understanding is that if low, it indicates a chronic infection. I am waiting on igenex test for my son, but cd57 came back very low and ASO titer for strep 604. LLMD diagnosed PANDAs and said prob lyme as well. he has mood swings, freq strep, lymph node swells, night sweats. Anyone else dealing with both? I hear they go together

I wish you the best. I have lyme, just finished a two month course of omnicef, azithromicin, minocycline and flagyl. Now I've found that my kids have PANDAS and probably lyme. So they are beginning diflucan, zithromax and omnicef.
