  1. Hi Mollyz, I'm attaching the link to our doctor. He has done so many things for our son. Check out the site so you can better understand what exactly he does. He is much more than a chiropractor. http://www.dcdoctor.com/dc/tx/atmachiropra...fs_aboutus.html My son still has tics but they are minor in comparison to what they were. None of what this doctor is invasive. Take Care, Belinda
  2. Hi Claire, No, Jack does not have asthma. There are severe cat allergies on my son's father's side of the family. Everyone in the family (outside our household)just continues to harass me regarding the pets. They insist (without any knowledge) that my pets are one of the causes of Jack's tics. His tics are so insignificant in comparison to what they used to be, but family members think that if I eliminated the pets, i.e. dander, all the tics would go away. If our chiro/naturopath told me to get rid of them based on his solid findings then I would consider it but that has yet to happen. I decided to post this idea out to you guys to see if anybody rid themselves of their pets and saw a significant change. I cannot see parting with our pets...it would just kill us inside. I am very glad to hear that none of you have had to part with your pets. Thanks for your input. Belinda
  3. Hi Mollyz, My son began ticcing in January '04. It began as a clearing of the throat, then a grunting sound, followed by gasps for air, and then yelps. Soon after began the head jerking. None of the medical doctors could give me any answers. Thank God I found this forum months ago because I began gathering as much information as possible (I only started posting here a week ago). I found myself a Chiropractor/Naturopath who has made miraculous progress with my son. Please follow the advice from Chemar, Heather, and Claire. They are fountains of information. Good luck, Belinda
  4. Thanks Chemar...I think that it would cause my son more stress than he could handle right now. We also consider our pets a part of our family. I'm glad to hear someone else feels the same.
  5. Hi Chemar, I haven't heard of Q Ray. I'm not sure if it is related. It is not in my brochure.
  6. I was wondering what you all have to say regarding pets. To date my son does not show an allergy to our cats (he has many allergies) but the Dr. says he could have a reaction to cats in combination with something else that we have not come up with yet. All family members are pressuring me just to get rid of all our pets, including our (outdoor) dog. Clean out the a/c vents, professionally clean the house and see what difference that makes. No one can understand why I haven't taken this step considering all that I have done thus far. Well, the fact is none of the kids, including Jack, want me to get rid of the pets. We have had our indoor cats for 3 years. I'm torn. Do all of you with kids with tics live without pets? Has anyone had pets, eliminated the pets, and had any significant improvements to speak of? Any words of wisdom are appreciated. Thanks, Belinda
  7. Hi Claire, We purchased our necklace from our holistic chiropractor for $125. Go to www.clarus.com to find out more about this amazing product. I am confident that it has truly helped my son with his tics and his concentration. Does your son have any problems with focus or concentration? If so, are you certain you can't convince him to use it? I believe it has done wonders for Jack. Ours came on a black cord but you can use other chains and he can tuck it inside his shirt. Hi Chemar, How interesting! An accupuncturist gave me the same tiny self adhesive magnets for my earlobes several years ago...but it was for weight loss. I've never thought about it for my son. Maybe I should look into that! Belinda
  8. Have any of you ever heard of QLink? I purchased a QLink necklace from my Dr. that my son has to wear day and night. It protects him from the EMFs all around him. It is much more than a magnet. It has some kind of chip inside. Maybe it is just me but he has done very well since I bought it 2 1/2 weeks ago. There is a definite improvement in his tics and his concentration has improved greatly!!! Belinda
  9. Heather...thanks for the kind words... His tics as well as his concentration has improved greatly!!! Melanie, I am no expert at this as are Heather, Claire, or Chemar and the others but I just want to share my experience with you. My son started with vocal tics followed by severe motor tics. Since beginning a protocol with this Chiropractor/Naturopath his vocal tics have drastically improved while his motor tics have basically disappeared (since June '04). Our Dr. found various viruses, toxins, and allergies in his system. We've chipped away one at a time and we have gotten somewhere. I am still learning every day. It is almost impossible to do it on your own. You are already on the right path because you've already found this forum.
