  6. Cheri, Thank you. I will research the ginko biloba, isn't the benadryl dangerous to take all the time? and does it work for lowering histamine long term..or just that day? I bought quercitin today. Thank you, Lisa

He is on methionine to lower high histamine, inositol and cal mag and GLA, and zinc...we have tried several aminos...the results did not seem good...on his nuero test all of his transmitters are high..except PEA.. So scared to use anymore aminos...he is tired of all the supplements...etc. If there is something that has worked I would love to know

  11. Hello, I have always taken a natural approach to my sons tics, ADHD type symptoms and some obsessive thoughts. But, he is 12 now, puberty is setting in and I see the stress and uncomfortableness he has in social situations....he is extremely social...just not relaxed. I would like to change that for him, especially the impulse control, and at times obsessive thoughts, I don't want them to cause him problems in other areas. So i was reading Dr Amens book and he use a combination of anti obsessive, stimulant, and blood pressure medicine when people exp. all three.....Guanfacine is the the blood pressure one, for tics, the stimulant for ADHD,and effexor. It seems like a lot for someone who has only used natural...but natural is just not working...we are trying to lower his histamine which is the cause of alot of this but, nothing else by time has seemed to help anything. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried guanfacine by itself or with any of the others or with anything natural.
  12. Thank you Cheri
  13. yes, it is nueroscience labs, you can call them and they will give you the name of a physician in your area that uses them. Some doctors that use them are mainstream physicians that can bill insurance, but many are DO's or Naturopaths that do not bill insurance..they require going through a doctor that uses them. Also, Dr Sahley at Pain and Stress Center does. ..she uses her own lab I believe. She will cost about $400, plus whatever supplements you get. painstresscenter.org Also, Las Colinas Pharmacy, in Irving, Tx will run the tests (they use Neuroscience labs...all they charge is for the test....like $280 or somewhere close to that. ..then they will give you their recommendations if they are any different from Neuroscience labs recommendations. This is the cheapest way available to get it done, aside from finding a doctor who takes your insurance (which is great find) It is a urine test, and can be done by mail. 972-580-1814 is the phone number.
  14. Hello, I would like to know what experience anyone has had with Taurine. All of my sons Nuerotransmitters are high except PEA and Serotonin. I was asked if we checked his Taurine levels...that was not part of the test...taurine is suppose to help to bring those down and reduce tics. But, I also know Taurine is a enegizer....so the doctor at the pharmacy we worked with said higher doses are needed for the calming affect of Taurine...but even though I saw a little more confidence in my son the couple days he got taurine, I also saw an increased anxiety when sitting down to watch tv...so I am concerned about how much to give him. He is 12, about 100 lbs. I would be interested to know how much others are using, the pharmacist has limited exp. with tics, much exp. with nuerotransmitters....so I want to confirm his statement. Thank you
  15. Yes, if the magnesium was detoxing I may ought to have stayed on it..but at that time I just did not know if I was making him worse...and it seemed so out of control...now the fact that Cal/mag supp. seems to bring pain in his knee or legs..is odd to me, so I was wondering if anyone had that experience. Also, the B-12 is not good for those with high histamine, neither is folic acid, choline, copper, or DMAE ..they also call it being under methylated....and when I read the articles on it, it gave alot of understanding as to why multivitamins just made things worse. So if anyone knows of a multi without these things that would be nice as well. Be blessed
  16. Thank you. That is a great idea..when we can we will have to do that.
  17. Hello, I am glad to part of a forum with so much exp. with TICS. My son has general tic, no outbursts, etc...mostly face tics, or transfers to fingers rubbing together...I also had them as a child and occassionally come back We have done much research through years..most supplements only made things worse years ago..including Bontech supp...prob. the magnesium and B12 (magnesium always made it worse (assuming because it is a detoxer as well) We took him off everything for a couple of years. He has high histamine..so B-12 only makes tics worse, and so does fish oil....(if anyone wants the research on this for their own needs let me know)...he is on Methionine now to lower histamine My question today is why would a cal/mag supplement bring agitation, more intense and irritated, and pain in knees...that seems to happen everytime I start one...especailly liquid calcium.. (it could still be the magnesium)...Any ideas are welcome Thank you
