  3. Hi tlkinser and everybody I have just recently started posting regarding my 9 year old son who started his "tics" both vocal and motor about three weeks ago. As explained he had a bad cold on the run up. We have changed his diet and started omega 3 fish oils. Seen no real improvement so far, however I suppose early days. HOWEVER, your post got me thinking, If I had to pin the day my son started the tics it was on a saturday night, funnily enough he was at a friends party during the day. They went to a play gym. I asked him the other day if anything happened, he said that he had a great time EXCEPT he bumped his head three times which was really sore! Now could there be a connection, I have an other appointment with docs, will mention this. However might give the chiropractor a go also. Can I ask if you have time to reply, is there any specific "thing" that the chiropractor does? P.S THIS SITE IS A GODSEND AS IT GIVES HOPE! Thanks and god bless Nicola
  4. Thank you , Yes I agree, next step to find out about food sensitivities. Will look at your website, thanks again !
  5. Hi I just wondered if anyone have an idea with tics/tourette why boys seem to be more likely to get tourettes than girls? Just curious ? Nicola
  6. Mom2a Hi there, i am new to this forum, My son has recently strarted to develop tics (throws his head back slightly) and lets out a "cough" Its funny you mention anixety, because my son does and has shown problems with anixety, Last year the whole family took a trip to London, England. We went on the Tube (subway) after a couple of times on the tube he started showing signs of being claustrophobic and started to panic everytime we went near the tube station. I think somehow that it must be all linked. I have started to clean up his diet, and started him on omega 3 fish oils. Only been since monday though, but I keep thinking when he gets up in the morning, is the tic still going to be there? I look at him closely then I still the tics starting, I have got to take things slow and have patience, but I tell you this is a stressful thing. Take Care
  7. Thank you all for your replies, it is so reassuring that I can talk to you all about this, my husband i think does not want to discuss this as I think he may be a little worried as well. I am from scotland and here he was given his main jabs around the age of 2/3. There is no family history of Tourettes/Tics however, my brother was diagnosed with OCD last year. Is this a connection I wonder. I shall start with his diet, but what worries myself is that he is already very fussy when it comes to food, so eliminating for example milk, which he loves, i worry that he will not be getting enough nutrients. One thing to consider is that he play his nintendo ds pokeman game all the time he loves this game, if I take this away will this not get him stressed and thus make the tics worse? I will try one thing at a time. Once again to you all god bless for taking the trouble to reply.
  8. Hi There, My 9 year old son has developed a tic, whereby he slightly throws his head back. He started doing this last week. I remember when he was around 4 or 5 he used to blink his eyes, but this went away. I really feel sick to my stomach as I fear he may have signs of tourette syndrome. His dad has also noticed this but seems to think it will go away. Have not been to the doctor yet, should i go ? Don't know if there is any connection but last week he looked reallly tired and has a bad cold, no sore throat,. He also lets out a repetitive cough. I cam accross this website which i think is fantastic. any comments would be most most helpful, Thank You.
