  1. What state do you live in? I have homeschooled my kids from the start in NC. My oldest was advanced academically at kindergarten age which was in part my motivation to homeschool. So glad I did, My second child has ocd/ possible PANS- and so glad she has been homeschooled. Each state has different laws but there is so much support for homescooling now. It does vary by state. Feel free to contact me about homeschooling questions. Gina
  2. Thank you for sharing your story. I too have a daughter who has been diagnosed with OCD for the past 3 years but I have wondered if it isn't PANDAS and continue to feel this could be the issue. Where did you go for the blood work testing? I have been looking into these options but not getting very far. I did just join this forum and did also look and post on the PANS/ PANDAS FORUM. I have wondered if we she could be tested for PANS this far out from the onset. Gina
  3. It has been just over 3 years since the onset of my then 8 year old daughter's severe OCD. She did have an illness maybe a month prior to onset that involved a sore throat- fever and such- never tested for strep. She is 11 now- and was doing well with therapy- after first changing diet and adding supplaments. But then this past winter had a severe flare up of OCD- to the point that she is home bound- fearful of anything touched by anyone else. She has been on prozac for almost 4 months- very slow increase in dose to now 15 mg She is petitie at about 70 lbs. She is calmer- but still having a very difficult time getting her to return to working on exposures like she had done prior to severe onset- I have wondered about PANS or PANDAs for some time, but was discouraged from doctors for pursuing it further but over the past few months, it has really bothered me- that it could be that- But can we seek diagnosis this far from the onset? I have not been able to find that answer to my question or where to begin with testing. I am so glad I found this forum. Thank you
