Pandasphilly

DS10 has severe pandas induced ocd and does not currently attend school. We live near Plymouth meeting,PA outside of Philadelphia so currently use the well know Children's Center for OCD and anxiety (Tamar Chansky's group)& Dr.Franklin's group at Penn. It has become unaffordable at $195/hr, 2-3x/week for over a year. Does anyone know of any providers of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with Exposure Response Prevention in this area? Or perhaps have used a therapist of value they can recommend? Any that take insurance or Aetna? We have tried Rogers Memorial (Pre IVIG and pex) and will try All Children's Tampa after pex but I'm hoping to find someone local for support.

I wish I knew. Did it give any credibility to the disorder? Mention the number of kids its affecting? Anything good to share?

Hi Everyone, I am new to the group, from Philadelphia, and confess to being another lurker. I was actually having posting difficulty. Thank goodness for all of you brilliant moms who have paved the path and posted it to share. I am heading to Georgetown for PEX next week with ds10. Does anyone know if it's safe to give 5 day prednisone burst a week before pex? Or know of any reason not to? We are 4 months post ivig (Dr.T) with only slight improvement. I can't survive another day of his raging. I especially can't imagine surviving hurricane Sandy without steroids. I recall steroids were helpful with ivig for different reasons. Usually a hurricane would be a breeze compared to what we live with daily But a hurricane with a PANDAS kid is a whole 'nother story!!
