  1. I agree, I would try a shampoo without dyes, too. It would be fairly easy (depending on where you live) to access some more natural products and it is worth a try. Good luck! Tessa
  2. Brenda, She really should also take probiotics to restore her gut flora to normal. I use "Culturelle" with my son twic a day while on the antibiotics and thenonce a day for 2-4 weeks longer. Stoneyfield Farms also has the good yogurt if your daughter eats dairy (my son doesn't). Other may have other probiotic suggestions. Good luck, Tessa
  3. There is flu vaccine without thimerosol. I just looked at some information on this. I'll see if I can find it to post a link. In the information from our Department of Public Health it also mentioned that pregnant women should get the thimerosol free shot. That being said, I'm not sure how easy it is to find it. Tessa OK......here is the document I read: http://www.mass.gov/dph/cdc/epii/flu/flu_c...mmendations.doc If you look at page 4 it mentions thimerosol. After that (? the next page) there is a chart of the type (brand) of flu shot and the content of theimerosol is listed. You can see those manufactureres that are thimerosol free. The flumist is also thimerosol free, however, I believe there is live virus in the flumist. Hope this helps!
  4. Thanks, Chemar for the reminder ....BT2 is growing and I'm glad to have found this spot, too! Take care, Tessa PS I, too love the pic!
  5. Well, thank you! I should have known that there'd be answers here. I'm going to check out the links. Thanks, Tessa
  6. Thank you, thank you Laurensmom and Chemar . It was driving me buggy (bad pun!!) and now I know. BTW....I have thought of this in the past and never asked.......are there natural food colorrings available commercially? If one is baking and wanted to tint something, have you ever seen them from plants at the commercial or natural food markets? Thanks, again! Tessa
  7. Help me out here, please.....what is the name of the food dye/coloring made from the ground up bugs? I was speaking with someone today and I couldn't remeber the name of it-drove me crazy and I can't search BT old posts. I was having a great conversation with some teachers about food dyes but couldn't remember that name!!! Thanks, Tessa
  8. Ronna, Glad to hear that Kurt is doing well ! I, too, am ready for school-well mostly, anyway! Very interesting about the Zithromax. You may recall that my younger son had chronic strep and eventually had his tonsills removed. Amoxicillin did nothing to clear the strep!!! Within 24 hours after finishing he'd have fever back and be vomitting violently. This would go on for weeks. All the docs in my practice (except my own pediatrician) kept saying that the amox was 100% effective in killing strep (we now know that is so not true) and kept retreating him . My own pediatrician trusted my observations and would put him on Keflex which would clear it until his next bout. My point is that anecdotal information precedes science by a number of years and it is so important to note these trends, so thank you for all of your wisdom. Thank you for the journal reference, too. Hope all is well....the baby must be getting big!! Take care, Tessa
  9. Hi Chemar , I miss all my old friends, too, and wonder how they all are. Cara....have had a nice and SIL diagnosed recently with celiac!!!! I will try the new BT and see what's up. Take care, Tessa
  10. Carolyn, Wonderful news!!! I am not surprised at all. You are a wonder. Take care, Tessa
  11. Yes, Thank you.... ! I've been away for a bit and this is my first post here. I was disappointed to see BT still down. Take care, Tessa PS The new BT link isn't recognizing my signin/password. Has anyone else tried?
