dut Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Hi - my dd7 and ds3 both have a PANDAS dx. Dd is more classic. We have never found the trigger for either, although there was strong anecdotal evidence for strep with dd. I'm clutching at straws here a bit but was wondering if drinking untreated stream water could have left an infection festering. We stayed at a rental house for a short vacation and only found out just before we left that they had failed to tell us the tap water came direct and untreated from the stream. Dd was 3 at the time and ds not even conceived, so any possible microbe would have to be transmissable. Other than giardia, does anyone have any ideas what we could have been exposed to and if it could have led to an aberrant immune situation? thanks....
JTs-Mom Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Other lake/stream type microbes include cholera (vibrio cholerae), e coli (escherichia coli) and other coliform bacteria. I haven't really looked into what type of havoc these can cause since I don't believe any of these are a factor for my ds.
matis_mom Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 I just found out the stream that runs in the back of our property has e.coli. We have well water but it is treated, and I need to start puting colloidal silver in our drinking water just in case. But I guess if you had e.coli, you would show severe symptoms right away?
