saidie10 Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 what have others experienced with omega 3's. trying to decide if I should add it or not...
thereishope Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) Omega 3 can be very beneficial. It can decrease inflammation and it is good for the brain. However, it has been noted that some people (specifically with tics) may actually experience a worsening of tics while taking fish oil. The increase in tics goes away once the supplement is stopped. I would give it. I give it to my son. If you've just added the Culturelle and Vit C, you could wait a week to start the Omega 3's. That way if there is any reaction, you know for sure what did it. When choosing an Omega 3, read all ingredients on the bottle. You don't want Omega 6 since that promotes inflammation Edited September 11, 2010 by Vickie
saidie10 Posted September 11, 2010 Author Report Posted September 11, 2010 Vickie thanks so much for the advice. I will wait a week since we just started the other stuff today. I will check the Omega 3 bottle I bought too. You know when I added yogurt two weeks go because it was suppossed to be good for someone on antibiotics with the active cultures and such I gave him DanActive and did not know about the strep in it. For two days he ate one of those yogurs and I kid you not, he reacted to the strep! He had a lot of factial tics all of a sudden! I didn't give it to him again and the tics stopped. CRAZY! No yogurt now for either of my kids...
