getting ready for a meeting to get a 504

Today I went into my dd school to get the ball rolling to get her a 504. Her doctor said she was going to need one since we will have to take her out of school alot when strep is going around the school.

I know what I need from the doctor as far as paper work goes saying she has PANDAS

but I was told I should go in to the meeting with as much information on PANDAS as I can get..

my question is what websites would you all say I should go to to print stuff off to have in hand explaining PANDAS to the school to help me get my dd the 504

Also any suggestions on what I should ask for in my 504 would be helpful also.

I know I should ask that I'm notified when there is a case of strep at the school.

and someone mentioned I should ask if a note goes home to those in her class stating that there is a child with PANDAS and explain what it is and asking the other parents that if there child is sick to please keep them home and if they test pos for strep to please call the school and let it be known

I am also asking that my dd can carry her own water bottle and not use the drinking fountin(that isn't going over board is it)

We just found out this past April that what was going on with her was PANDAS.. and April and May were AWFUL for her.. there was a ton of strep going around her school and she was having alot of issues..

This summer has be wonderful.. She has only had a handful of break though issues mostly just the fear and moodiness.. but even that has been so small..

I really fear what she will be like going back to school.. praying it won't be like last year and wanting to do everything I can to keep her safe.. I just don't know what all that means.. all I need to do to keep her little brain from being under attack.
