Lyme Testing

Does it make a difference to have Igenex testing done while on antibiotics (Biaxin)? My son has been on an antibiotic consistently for about 4 months and we switched to Biaxin about a month ago. I know Biaxin is used for Lyme so I'm wondering if that would throw off the results.

You should stop antibiotics a week prior to testing and then resume after testing.

You can also call Igenex and ask but I fairly certain they will give the same answer. Good Luck.

I think I did call them (or another private Lyme lab, can't remember!) and they said a week off of antibiotics. I'm wondering how long it takes for the kit to get here. We've been off of antibiotics for two days and it is not fun here!
