matis_mom Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 I am taking dd10 (the one I suspect may have mild PANDAS) to the allergist tomorrow. I know they are going to want to do the skin testing. I am new to the allergy world, but I understand there is blood testing that is more acurate. So if anyone has more experience with this I could really use some info. My daughter is very scared of needles, and I hate to put her through the skin testing, but she does have some allergies and I need to know what she is allergic to. Also, anything else I should ask for while I'm there? Thanks!
Suzan Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 From my experience, most allergists say that the blood testing is not accurate and the skin test is what you need to go by. My girls, who both hate needles, did very well with the skin test, although dd7 did cry a lot when it started itching. Good luck and keep us posted!
