Claire
Hi all, I was reading about Rebounders (small high quality indoor trampolines) and how they are supposed to be great for stimulating the lymphatic system. And how the lymphatic system is so important to build the immune system and detox your system. (the lymph fluid carries away waste cells. We had one in our house for years--up until 2 years ago my son and I jumped on it a lot. You can imagine how well a 4 foot mini trampoline could get used from just being in the house. But during the remodel it got moved and destroyed. The reboundologists (who also sell the product!) claim that the vertical up and down motion is much more stimulating to the lymphatic system than standard exercise. I have a close friend who just found out they had cancer and I was researching ideas to help him build his immune system and came upon the rebounders. So anyway, I decided to buy one for our house again. I got it for both of us, my system needs the same detox and my immune system needs building up. It will never go to waste in our home. Minimally it just encourages exercise indoors (I have one exercise machine inside that I already use a lot also) I just wondered if anyone had heard of rebounding before and had read anything confirming or denying their health claim? I found some research on NASA finding value in it for exercise (obviously), but nothing independent on the stimulation of the lymphatic system. Thanks, Claire
Jennifer
Claire, I have mini-trampoline, but the novelty has wore off for the kids...need to get thenm to do it again. A friend lent me a tape on rebounding and the info was absolutely amazing. Being that there there are no blood vessels in the lymphatic system it needs some help to get the toxins moving and like you stated rebounding is a great way to go about it. Mini trampolines are a minimal investment and certainly worth trying! Jennifer
Claire
Hi Jennifer, Thanks. I didn't know that about no blood in the lymph system. Ah, it makes more sense now. We got ours to be used more by putting it next to a bed and letting them jump from the trampoline to the bed. Obviously, can't do this with an expensive bed--we found out the hard way. Also, I like to put it in front of the LCD TV so that he can bounce again while watching. My new one came yesterday. I was jogging on it (normally I do a stairstepper). What a workout! Low impact, but good for osteo preventation too (my mom has osteo now, so I must pay attention). Claire
