Does Dr. C collaborate with other doc's like our rheumatologist or pediatrician? That would be a huge help.

Dr. Cunningham is a research scientist, not a clinician. She does not treat or recommend treatment. But, my daughter's pediatrician called her when I showed him Allie's study results and she was wonderful about explaining the study and what it means. Then she referred him to Dr.Latimer for treatment information- When he called dr. Latimer, she was also very responsive about helping the pediatrician figure out what to do.

Hi, Donna:

Never seen it abbreviated as ABA... but our PANDAS son tested high on both ANA (which the doc called Anti-Nuclear Antibodies, and which we understood to be a general indicator of an autoimmune condition) and RF (Rheumatoid Factor - indicative of inflammation) at the very beginning, before we had a diagnosis. He retested high on both of these at intervals afterward.

Have any of your children been found to have elevated ABA's on previous testing? Just curious if that's significant or meaningful among PANDAS/PITANDS children?

Oops...meant ANA! Antinuclear antibody...it was elevated. Considering our family history, it isn't a surprise. But, I'm curious if any other's out there have seen this?
