Trouble Finding A Job

Recommended Posts

I have an office technology diploma. I am having a very hard time finding a job and its very frustrating. I get several interviews, but don't get past the interviews. I'm a very hard worker, responsible, friendly, understanding, excellent office and computer skills and have done respite care for the past 6 years and all the people just love me and say I'm the greatest worker they've seen. When I go to interviews my tics get a lot worse from the stress, being nervous, and being excited which I know doesn't help me get a job. I'm shy until I get to know someone so this also makes it hard. The other thing is I'm not good with on the spot questions like that. I had a job as a telephone interviewer and they were really happy with me and I was getting awards for my work. Worked for them 2 months at 40 hours a week and without warning fired me because I didn't read one survey exactly word for word.

I have been working with vocational rehab, they said they will pay for part of the education and help you find a job. Well they helped me pay for my education and there not being very helpful with helping me with finding a job. They keep saying they are referring me to another office and that the office will call me, but they never do. It is so frustrating to see my family members and friends go out and get a job just like that and for me I can't even get past the interview. Its so hard not to give up when you have been trying to find a job for several months and am not having any luck. Please any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

There are laws that are meant to protect against job discrimination. It might not always be easy to prove, especially when you out there by yourself but if you apply for a job in the civil service field then you might have access to the government unions for protection under the law and then be gainfully employed. I do not know where you live but you might want to try a local, state, or federal job. In some states, you can start the application process over the computer and there are alot of Federal jobs posted on the computer under different agencies. For example, Department of Labor might be a start on Google search. You might also might want to look at a fortune 500 company that is so large that they have a big need for finding good workers and that is all that they are looking for.
