Guest Jean
We just started our home project including paint our living/family/study rooms. Which brand would you suggest? Thanks in advance for your suggestion. Jean
Claire
Hi Jean, We use Kelly Moore low VOC paint (something like volume of contaminants)--I forget the exact name, but they only make one of these--in all the colors of course. It is supposed to be good for hospitals. I got the idea from a Doris Rapp book, though I don't think she had that brand. We stayed out of the house while they painted, and when we came back my son was fine. I highly recommend it. You can tell--there is no smell very quickly. Be sure and do it for the primer also. Frank_Sm1th
Jean, VOC means Volatiile Organic Content. I paint a lot in my home-based business (signs and art) and we have a few air filters around the place. They protect us from dust, molds, etc. They also do a fair job on paint vapors if they have a charcoal filter layer. We use HEPA filters, which cost quite a bit, so the charcoal part is usually part of their system. They all seem to work pretty well- Hunter, Honeywell, etc... Good luck, Frank
