the new flu vaccine this year

I was only worried about the mercury vaccines...

For the supplementation, do NOT supplement until the first sign of a cold. It is not effective at preventation and you are not supposed to use it that long.

Every study I read said to begin supplementation at the first sign of a cold. Please read the zinc links to find the best lozenges. Zinc gluconate or zinc acetate, best without citric acid--though ours have them. They should be taken every couple of hours ideally, to maintain the anti-viral environment of the throat. We also take an Echinacea tablet at the same time. AND a great nights sleep those first two nights. Okay, plus he takes 1000 mg vitamin C anyway, but I would do C also otherwise. I do this for 2-3 days after all symptoms are gone (he usually only has symptoms 1 day now). My hope is to kill the virus before it takes hold, though the studies say that even if the virus takes hold, it will be less severe and not last as long. I haven't tested Elderberry since this works so well for us there is no need for further explanation.

I had a sore throat last night (my first of the season) and took 2 zinc lozenges, and swallowed an Echinacea. Voila, gone this morning. I too got bad bronchitis every year that I remember since I was 10 years old or so, and have not had it for 3 seasons since I started doing this--now on my 4th. And I only started supplementing for deficiencies 6 months ago.

We also use an air filter at night in his room and vacuum and change his sheets often. This prevents false alarms from stuffiness due to dustmites, etc.

I am big on Chiron since they stopped the mercury in children's vaccine BEFORE it became law. You still need to do your own research and ask them directly, but my understanding is that it is a corporate policy to not use Thimerisol anywhere.

Clearly Susanna this is YOUR decision as a mother. We are just expressing our own opinions--we all know that you know your child best. All the studies show substantial improvement, but no one solution works for every single person. You need to find out for your child, and to some degree it is experimenting--I fully recognize this. My son used to get croupe so badly he needed a steroid shot as a baby so I know how scary it it (they recommended steroids and inhalers after this for his bronchitis, but I refused them).
