Anybody else have a whimpering tic?

My son is 9 and was diagnosed with Tourettes in April. His tics are mostly vocal, and very mild. He has gone through grunting, gulping, different consanant sounds like "nuh nuh" and guh guh", throat clearing, and many breathing tics like gasping and exhaling very quickly.

The latest sound is like a dog whimpering. It is very soft in volume, and almost sounds cute if you can believe it. My husband and I both almost giggle when he makes this sound, cuz it sounds so cute.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this tic.

My son who is 7 had this tic for awhile. Sounds like what you are explaining. It is very endearing....He hasn't done it for awhile but has adopted the others you had explained(guh guh). My son has a few vocal tics but also head shaking, arm stretching/flapping that type of thing.

Thanks for your reply. I figured someone else had experienced this but I've never seen it listed in any tic info anywhere.
