Guest rag
I've been a regular visitor on this forum for a month now and found everything here very helpful and I'm very thankful for that. My son is 7 yrs. old and has tics. He's been diagnosed last year by a neurologist and adviced us not be concern about it. It has gotten worse this year that we had to take him to the emergency hospital only to wait for 7 hrs. Out of this frustration that I started looking for answers on the internet and I was very fortunate to found this website. Based from what I've been reading, I only noticed that my son had his tics since he was 5 and it shows during spring and summer but by fall and winter, if he has it, maybe he's too tired or he ate too much sugar or any junk(?). I started looking for a chiropractor, hoping that he'll be helped. I found a pediatric chiropractor and took an x-ray of my son's spinal cord and neck. We found out that he has 10 degrees scoliosis. He showed x-rays of his previous patient, similar to my son's case, that was diagnosed to had ADD and on Ritalin. After a year of treatments, the chiropractor told us that the patient is taken off medication and has improved. I've noticed that nobody mentioned about scoliosis and tics so I'd like to know if someone has heard of this. By the way, I also took my son to an environmental doctor and had the allergy tests done but it'll be 3 weeks before I will know the results so I'm hoping while waiting for the results, his condition will improve with his pediatric chiropractor. sgrunin
I have tourettes and I have scoliosis..mine was more like 30 degrees though...I had to go to Boston Children's Hospital every week when I was younger. They fitted me for a back brace that I had to wear 18 hours a day. I had to wear this through my first year of college.... If I didnt wear it or if it got worse they would have had to put a metal rod in my spine to keep it straight. I am not sure if there is a connection between them though Scott
