wornoutmom Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 He was 3 1/2 weeks early. He also had a sore throat, fever, swollen glands episode 2 months prior to the RSV that came back rapid negative for strep so they diagnosed viral pharyngitis and did not treat. No culture done at the time as my dh just took him to urgent care as it was 5 days after I had just given birth to my second son. I suspect now that was really strep, but I just wondered about how/if the RSV might have played into it as this was only 2 months later.
thereishope Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 There's a chance the first time was strep, that started the process, then the RSV sent it overboard into a full fledge exacerbation. I'm starting to hear more parents with similar experiences, with vaccines too.
