I finally got a copy of my sons' labs from the ENT (nasal swabs). It shows a few "moraxella catarrhalis" bacteria. I googled and seems those are pretty common buggers in sinus infection. But more significant is the "Moderate Coag-Negative Stapphylococcus Sp. - Strain 2" I was told my our Immunologist that 75% of people have staph in their nasal passages - no big deal. But as I researched the web, it turns out the commonly carried staph is "Coag -Positive" staph. From everything I could find on "Coag Negative", the staph my son has is the kind that you usually pick up in the hospital and is NOT associated at all with sinus infection?? Plus I could not find any information on what "Strain 2" meant. We see the immunologist on MOnday (for an allergy test to pennicillin) and he has been quite supportive and willing to talk about PANDAS so far, so I'd like to bring it up with him, but would like to know a little about what I'm talking about. Can anyone enlighten me?
