earnestfamily7 Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 After being on this forum and being reminded about the pupils, I started looking at all of my children's eyes.... alot.... Well DS(9) has giant pupils ?daughter 7 - giant pupils son (5) - giant pupils.... son 2 - normal son 1 -normal I knew Jordan's would be... I suspected Gabrielle's would be but almost fell over when I saw Christopher's.... His are dilated all day... I haven't seen them small since I started checking out there eyes a few days ago.... Does anyone know why they dilate.... I know about the light/darkness reasons and the fight or flight response/terror stricken.... Is eye dilation seen as a response to all immune related troubles? Is this a precursor sign (one that I would never ever looked for or questioned in any of my kids prior to my "PANDAS education" Am I over-reacting or should I be concerned? Thanks! Steph

Steph I don't know how this works (why the pupils dilate like that, especially during an exacerbation). But, try this little experiment... Look at each child's pupils and note the size, then shine a flashlight on them and compare the reaction. My PANDAS ds does not seem to react to light nearly as much as all the other kids. So, besides any difference in the initial size, it's interesting to note the lack of contraction...
