earnestfamily7 Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 any suggestions on how to stop the speed like behavior when it occurs? It seems like once he starts he (DS9)doesnt stop running like my house is a racetrack... then of course the 2yo and 5yo think this a fun so it just creates more hyper activity in my DS... I ahve tried holding him for a minute... redirecting... I cant get anything to work... thanks in advance
dut Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Hello We had a lot of motor hyperactivity with our 1st episode. I would physically stop her and redirect her to the tv.. not what you'd normally do but it was the only thing that would get her attention. Longer I let her race round, the more hyper she'd get. We watched a lot of tv for a while there....

I will definately try this.... tv is better than the speeding behavior as I agree it just gets worse the longer he goes.... thanks...
familyof4 Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Have you tried motrin/advil? Within 30 minutes it usually has a drastic effect on my son. TV doesn't work for him - when he gets like that he can't sit much less stand still.
