Bio and adopt Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 My 14 year old son with PANDAS has the worst handwriting. If someone had to guess they would probably say that a first grader with bad handwriting had written it. It is not big letters just almost illegible. The handwriting does not change with his symptoms it is just always bad. Has anyone else seen this? Maybe he just naturally has horrible penmanship? I am new here and will be writing an introduction (when I have a moment). I have read a lot of the post and am so relieved to have found this site. Thank to all who are here! Thanks Melissa
Kayanne Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I'm really glad that you found this fourm....but I am sorry that you are here....Welcome. My daughter's writing got very sloppy during her PANDAS episode, and has since returned to a normal (maybe a little too neat) printing for a first grader. Her kindergarten wrote and drew in a daily journal, and it was easy to see the deterioation and then the cessession of all writing and drawing...something that she spent hours on at home....Thankfully that has returned...not to the "hours" point, but she still does it frequently.

Thanks Melissa My 12 year-old PANDAS son can barely write at when he is at his worst; keyboarding can even be a challenge. So he rigged up the voice recognition software that came with his PC, and now, at times, he "speaks" his papers or answers! Even when the PANDAS isn't raging, his handwriting isn't anything to write home about! Is your son always falling a little short, penmanship-wise, or does this only rear its head during a PANDAS exacerbation?
