Claire Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 I wanted to see if they had soda that my son could have for his elementary graduation, and this is what it now says on the Whole Foods 365 brand: "We've refoumulated our 365 sodas to eliminate the high fructose corn syrup, a potential source of GMOs. Pure cane sugar, an ingredient that has never been genetically modified, has replaced the corn syrup. Enjoy!" I hope this is just the beginning.... My son can't have corn at all, and I just found out I can't handle corn sugars, and I know others here have mentioned how processed corn syrup is. I assume GMO is Genetically Modified Organism? We use Luna power bars, (no dairy, wheat, corn syrup or eggs). But I just read this from Mercola on power bars: http://www.mercola.com/2003/may/21/energy_bars.htm "But there is nothing natural about the protein used in today's energy bars. Soy protein comes with an initial burden of phytic acid, enzyme inhibitors and isoflavones. More toxins are formed during high-temperature chemical processing, including nitrates, lysinalanine and MSG. Soy protein must be processed at very high temperatures to reduce levels of phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors, a process that over-denatures many of the proteins in soy, especially lysine, making them unavailable to the body. " Any one have comments on 'soy isolate"?
