Megs_Mom Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Hey - both of our Neurologists (including Latimer) want Meg to be re-evaluted for Lupus if she has another PANDAS flare. In order to do that, we are going to have to have an on-going relationship somewhere, or we will be another 6 months out for an appt. It's so hard to get appts with specialists in the middle of one (especially when I go for the Prednisone on day 3 next time!!!). So they have an initial appt for us at Emory - with Dr. Larry Vogler - he does both Rheumotology & Immunology (we are doing Immunology tests locally tomorrow). So, does anyone know him? I hate to take my dd out of school for a boring day, drive 8 hours, and get someone that does not believe in PANDAS. That would just be such a waste at this point. But I know I need the initial appt in order to get the urgent one. I finally got her tests back from last year, when she was in a good place, and while only 3 results are below the low range, another 7 tests are at the absolute bottom of the range. That doctor did not even give us a courtesy call back - just had the nurse call & say all results were fine . C4 serum low, HCT low. The following at the bottom of the range - C3 Serum, RBC, HGB, MCV MCHC, RDW (mostly to do with anemia, which she had when she was 1 - and that I have asked about a few times at Ped visits due to constantly feeling cold or having pale skin despite tan). So who knows - are these anything to worry about, or totally fine? I'd like a darn expert. Am tired of being her best advocate - hope the immunologist tomorrow can answer some of this.
