Char
Hi All, Today I finally got my sons IGG Allergy Test back. It says that he has a high sensitivity to Eggs. I am glad I got the test done because I would of never of guess that one. I have done the wheat and dairy free diet before but never the no egg diet. I have a few questions, has anyone been on the no egg diet and does it help to decrease tics?I really hope if I put my son on the no egg diet it will help with the Tics. Is there anything I can put in recipes to replace eggs, especially when I'm baking? Eggs are in so many things, it's going to be challenging at first. Is there any books that I can read to help me? In foods that you can buy at the store and you read the ingredients, are eggs hidden under other names?Just asking because sometimes, some ingredients can be hidden under other names. If the no egg diet helps to decrease tics, I wonder how long before you would see results? If anyone can help me get started It would greatly be appericated!!! This is going to be all new to me and a little scary to start something new when I don't know how it will affect my son. My son has started antiobics for his strep throat so, will see how that goes. Thanks Char..
lurker
Hi Char, Don't know how long until you see a decrease, but EnerG egg replacer is great. It is available at Whole Foods. Caryn gave me a great tip that really helped: When using egg replacer, add one extra egg. If the recipe called for one, use 2 replacers. If it called for 3, use 4 replacers. lurker
Char, I forgot to mention, be very careful of vaccines. The flu shot in particular is contraindicated for egg allergy. I think they cultivate the virus in egg. I don't think egg has any aliases. It's one of the "big 8" allergens, so it should be clearly labeled.
