hi Bmom:

YES we finally saw Dr Robbins. He agreed that there is definitely something neurological going on. He ran some blood tests when we were there but it is so hard to read these results from the lab.....i think he did a CMP, CBC w/ diff, lipids, IGA IGG IGM. All results were normal, but on the lab sheet it said his triglycerides and cholesterol were out of range/abnormal. I need to call and ask him about that, i have no idea what that mean, i dont know what triglycerides are.

The first thing he wants to do is have my son start a yeats/mold/dairy free diet, which i was researching just now on the internet. He really didnt say much in terms of speculation, and he wasnt ready to give any supplements tho i practically begged him! but first he wants to get my sons stomach healed, i hope thats what we're doing with the anti yeast program. We didnt get in to much talking, i described a lot and he agreed that most likely the Abilify my son was on really messed with his head, he said he would not give meds unless there was no choice because the kid was not functioning at all. He has more blood tests he wants to do but i could not afford them at the time of the visit, we will do those soon, they are nutritional analysis and parasitic/chemical analysis. He gave us some probiotics which we started and told me my son should take alka seltzer gold daily along with some zantac.

something i have been reading about which interests me greatly is the immune connection and why the autoimmune system attacks itself. I want to know if all these stomach issues and his ulcer have contributed to his neurological problems, if so how, and what do we do. I hope to get to that matter when i have my phone appointment with Dr Robbins in a few weeks.

Sorry if thats not much info....if you have specific questions feel free to message me! thanks!

I was just wondering if you have seen Dr. Robbins yet? If so, could you post about your visit? Tests run and recommendations? Thanks so much.

Thanks- I am trying to find the top doctors that handle this and he looks pretty good, yet it is so far. Did he tell you to do the diet based upon test results or just that it often works? The wheat free/ dairy free has a lot of books out there due to autism. You throw in the mold though too. I would probably make a list of ok foods according to Gf/Dairy free and then go through and see what to eliminate based on mold. Good luck. Please keep us updated on him as I am considering him. Did nothing come up on the allergy testing? I know he does optimal dose shots/drops and my son seems to have soo many allergies, I thought this may help him.
