Momof2cubs Posted July 4 Report Posted July 4 My child aged 6.5 years has recently been diagnosed with this and I am wrecked. I need to know some success stories around it. Have you kids been able to live a normal life without medicin?
Swetha Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 Hi @Momof2cubs, I am sorry that you are going through this. i am sure there are amany success stories, but its going to be a long haul. But there are many forums where you can find some answers - especially on Facebook groups for pans/pandas etc. I can recommend you to start with reading the book from Dr. Jill Crista - "A light in the dark". It has been very helpful for me, as I live in a country where the doctors dont believe in Pans/Pandas. There are different avenues where you can start looking for answers: Functional medicine, naturopathy, antibiotic route, homeopathy etc.. there is so much you can do for your kids. Also diet plays a huge role. GF and DF might help initially to take the edge off. Some supplements are also non negotiable. There is HOPE mama. Hold on there and we will get out of this. I hope you find your answers sooner. Take care. Swetha
selenatics Posted July 18 Report Posted July 18 My nephew was diagnosed around age 7, and while the journey wasn’t quick or simple, he’s doing well now, back in school, social again, and managing without constant interventions. It took about a year and a half of ups and downs, with a combination of antibiotics, dietary changes, and a few lifestyle adjustments.
