trintiybella
My child is taking rifampin, minocycline, valtrex and amphtetercin. Which one could be turning teeth brown? We are starting to wean off of these medications and I want to start with the one that I think is causing the discoloration. I suspect the rifampkin but was wondering if you had any experience with this. Her teeth are the only thing that she likes on her body. :0(
Mayzoo
Minocycline can discolor teeth (due to changes in the saliva). It is a surface stain the the dentist can polish off fairly easily. When kiddo was on minocycline, our dentist gave some extra containers of that flouride/pumice tooth polish to use once a month at home. Not all dentists will do this, but you can ask. nicklemama
It's surface staining. My son takes augmentin and biaxin. It comes off with teeth cleaning or a mix of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide made into a paste.
