smartyjones
I'm asking for a friend . . . what do you think of these symptoms? school work refusal, when stressed due to difficulty with adults over school issues, chewing up things (paper, teacher's flash card) and spitting out, touching other kids' things. following other kids around the classroom. social trouble at unstructured times, poking another kid. at other times, cooperative, participating appropriately. licking things -- people, papers. pr40
we saw some of those symptoms for a short period of time, on several occasions, during, of course, exacerbation. they came abruptly and disappeared as quickly. as you have the post, it is hard to say what these behaviors are symptoms of. it could be pandas/pans, as in our case, but it could be something else, too. nicklemama
Those are sensory behaviors and he has some lack of social appropriateness and cues, a bit of impulsiveness and rigid thinking. I can think of a few things....ADHD, Aspergers or high functioning ASD, and I would screen him for infections for PANS.
