HopeinHIM
Dr T ordered the Courtagen on both my boys. I didn't see it being that useful and it was $450 for him to read them for me over the phone. I assume it helped the Dr. cancel out any theories he had or conclude some new! The TEST showed in Both boys " Pandas profiles" w the youngest very susceptible to nuero disorders. This is what we are seeing too. Older son had OCD and Tics w Pandas but NO behavior issues the youngest (Courtagen showed Nuero sensitivities) is the one who rages and as behavioral issues with his PANS. I guess helpful. Does the 23andMe offer something new and is it $100 with the results (also who reads them for you)?
LNN
These are not the same tests. There may be some overlap in some of the genes they report on, but I've only done 23andMe so can't say for certain. For me, 23andMe was incredibly useful - one of the Top 5 tests we've ever done. It gave me info to help my DD with her mood swings and my DS with his quick anger. It helped my DH with a blood pressure medication issue. It helped me understand how to change my own diet and supplements. But it helps different people to different degrees. Who reads the results? You do. Under the pinned threads at the top of the forum, you can find a long post by me on which resources were most helpful in understanding your results. You can also search the forum on MTHFR and 23andMe and find additional information.
