cara615
Can anyone recommend a good digestive enzyme for a child that does not swallow pills?
smartyjones
i have not used this with my kids - used on myself. a friend of mine has worked in nutritional supplements for years and for a couple of companies and she recommended it. it come in capsules but perhaps you could open and empty into juice. digestmore by renewlife. we see an integrative MD who used homeopathy. a year or so ago, we were all struck with a virus. my digestion never seemed to be right after that sickness - perhaps 4-6 months. this doc suggested digestive enzymes but not a specific brand. my friend suggested this and it was helpful. MomWithOCDSon
We've used some in the past that were in gelcaps, which you could take apart and put the contents into applesauce, yogurt . . . something at room or a cool temperature so that you don't run the risk of damaging the enzymes before they get a chance to do their work. sf_mom
Currently out of stock but a good chewable enzyme for dairy, casein, gluten: http://www.pureformulas.com/trienza-chewable-with-dpp-iv-activity-180-tablets-by-houston-enzymes.html#sthash.b6pcQIWv.dpbs Also another good one but not specific for dairy, casein, gluten: http://www.pureformulas.com/papaya-enzymes-180-lozenges-by-now.html#sthash.kefUMGgj.dpbs We use both but since chewable is out of stock we use capsule form the Houston Enzymes. pr40
just about swallowing pills: have you tried to give them with a spoonlfull of apple sauce? we hide pills so that they are not visible. Ds knows it is there and swallows it without a problem. Edited April 4, 2014 by pr40
